Summer Camp

During summer vacation, the city offers several camp options for children ranging in age from 3 to 15 years old. See the Summer Camp Brochure for a complete listing of all programs the Sunny Isles Beach Summer Camp program has to offer.

Various camps are in session Monday, June 13 – Friday, August 19, 2016. All the camp programs are listed below. Detailed dates, fees and schedules can be found within the brochure.

Monday – Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.;
Sundays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Registration Information
2016 registration forms are available at Pelican Community Park. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Completed forms and fees are required to hold your reservation. Once the camp reaches full capacity, a waiting list is formed. A deposit of 50% (1/2) will be due at the time of registration. Camp fees will be made in two equal payments, but all fees will be due in full prior to the start of the summer (final payment day is June 4th). There will be no grace period on payments. Your reservation may be lost if we do not receive payment in full by June 4th.

*The City of Sunny Isles Beach will no longer offer Financial Aid or Scholarships for the 2016 Summer Camp Program. Please download the below document for a list of alternative options for Summer Camp where Financial Aid is available as found through the Children’s Trust Fund.

Day Camps

Half-day camp available for children ages 3 and 4 years old. Toddlers have an opportunity to interact with other children for the first time in a school setting. Activities include art, music, sports, and yoga.
Full-day camp available for children grades Kindergarten through 2nd. Participants go on two field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.
Full-day camp available for children grades 3, 4 & 5. Participants go on two field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.
Full-day camp available for children grades 6 & 7. Participants go on three field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.
Full-day camp available for children grades 8, 9 & 10. Participants go on three field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.

Specialty Day Camps

Campers will get an amazing outlet for their creativity and learn to better express their emotions through painting with acrylics, making paper mâché sculptures, and many other fun activities. Participants must bring their own lunch every day.
Students will design, build, and program their own robots with special lego pieces, motors, sensors, and computer software. Participants must bring their own lunch every day.
Campers will be introduced to different aspects of Musical Theater such as acting, dancing, and singing as part of their performing experience. They will be rehearsing scenes from famous musicals. Participants must bring their own lunch every day. Performance will take place on August 6.

Sports Day Camps

Offers girls the opportunity to showcase their unique athletic ability amongst their peers by exposing them to a variety of challenging and fun exercises, games, and sports.

Participants will learn skills of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and more. In order to enroll in “Elite” camp, participants must have participated previously in the city’s basketball program.
Participants will learn skills of cheerleading; including cheers and dance routines. All participants must bring and wear closed-toe sneakers and comfortable clothes. Performance will take place on Friday.
Participants will experience kickboxing, dance, and physical fun! No camp on Friday, July 3rd. This camp includes two field trips and two lunches.
Participants will learn the basics of blocking, passing, and running with the ball, as well as basic defensive skills. Participants must wear sneakers.
Learn the basics of this indoor soccer game. No camp on Friday, July 3rd. This camp includes two field trips and two lunches.
Participants will learn a different sport each day, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer. Participants are responsible for bringing and wearing various sports equipment.
Participants will learn skills of soccer, including dribbling, passing, kicking, ball control, and more. Participants are responsible for bringing and wearing shin guards and cleats.
Tennis, Duckball, Floor Hockey; Come and learn the basics of these indoor sports and have fun while you make new friends!
Participants will learn skills of volleyball, including serving, passing, hitting and setting. Participants must wear closed-toe sneakers for each day of camp.
