Happy New Year
Vice Mayor Lewis J. Thaler
Both
Madi and I want to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous
new year. We have many
things to look forward to next year – first
and foremost is our move from our present location to our brand new City
Hall on January 21st. Housed in the building will be a post office, which
will be up and running when we move in and a Miami-Dade library expected
to be opened in April. A formal dedication of City Hall will take place
at 2:00 PM on February 25th. More information will be forthcoming.
Were you at Samson Park for the lighting of our festival lights on December
9th? About 150 people attended and saw Santa arrive and then they danced
to great music. In early December, thanks to our Commissioner Roslyn
Brezin, residents of Sunny Isles Beach were able to get their flu shots
in the convenience of the Arlen House. No long lines, plenty of seats,
and even refreshments. Great job Roz!!!
Our long awaited lifeguard stand at 192nd Street is just about completed
as are the ones at 174th and 180th Streets. The brick walkways designating
crossings have been completed and look good. For safety, please remember
to cross at these crossings.
Our Sunny Isles Community Shuttle bus now goes to Aventura Mall seven
days a week as well as all over town and it is free. A schedule is available
for your convenience at City Hall. Call if you would like any additional
information.
Our City Hall number, 305.947.0606 will remain the same when we move.
So let us hear from you if you have any questions or comments. Again,
I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.
