“Smiles Said It All – Thanks to You…”

On Friday, December 22, it was unusually festive and loud and joyous in the lobby of the City Government Center. After all, it was filled with children of all ages anxiously awaiting the distribution of Christmas and Holiday gifts to the needy, underprivileged and displaced children in our area.

Essentially all the hard work and dedication of so many, since the first kick off campaign at the Sunny Serenade back in October, had now come to fruition. The presents and gifts that so many goodhearted people donated and dropped in boxes for kids were all ready to be dispersed. The number this year was better than ever as our list keeps growing every year. For that we “THANK YOU” to each and every one of you who gave your time, your treasure or your talent. The photos say it all!

I would like to both thank and recognize several people and groups who helped make our program a success.
First, Officer Melissa Montesino and all her assistants and special elves. You all know who you are and of course Ms. Sandra Block who helped Melissa keep it “together.”

Also to our City Commissioners and our new City Manager, who not only allow us but support us in this event each year. This partnership has really grown and many have benefited from it. It is a great feeling when all is said and done to see what effect, kindness and generosity to kids, has on them. So, thanks to all of you for your help. Lastly, to every single one of our business owners and residents who gave in some way. Thank You and God Bless Each of You in a very special way in 2007!
