New Year of Sunny Serenades

The 2006 Sunny Serenade series started off on a cool night with a really ‘cool’ band. VIVA Classic Rock & Roll brought out some new faces to the concert series. Along with some of our regulars, we had many visitors from our friends from up north. Those guests, dressed mostly in shorts and shirt sleeved shirts, didn’t seem to mind the cool temperature. Several were even working up a sweat on the dance floor!

Mayor Norman Edelcup, along with Commissioner Lewis Thaler, welcomed the guests with a special surprise. They were the first to be introduced to our new City Manager, John Szerlag. Guests welcomed him and applauded his arrival.

As the night was coming to a close, the ‘standing room only’ crowd would not let the band stop. They kept asking for “one more song”! VIVA obliged them with a couple more before they had to say goodnight. With several requests to have them back, we will certainly schedule them again. Join us for the concert in February where we will feature Latin music by the group Paye.
