Message from Commissioner Roslyn Brezin
Visiting Oleta River State Park
By Commissioner Roslyn Brezin

On January 27, 2007 Oleta River State Park celebrated its 20th anniversary. Steve Dale, Park Manager, welcomed Mayor Norman S. Edelcup, Senator Gwen Margolis, our city historian Richard C. Schulman and myself. We were all aware of the incredible beauty that surrounded us. Besides, we were pleasantly surprised to find many amenities available there such as Kayak and Canoe rentals that would allow one to sail along the waterway and enjoy the view. The Blue Moon Outdoor Center located in the Park is open everyday from 9:00 to sunset.
The historic Blue Marlin Fish House restaurant has been reopened. It was most interesting to tour and learn about the procedures to smoke the fish, and of course, to taste the delicacy.
The park is only minutes away from Sunny Isles Beach and is conveniently located at 3400 NE 163rd Street, east of Biscayne Blvd. on Oleta River.
What a lovely way to entertain your guests by sharing lunch at the park, outdoor café and visiting this State Park in neighboring North Miami!
