Latin Night brings in a Huge Crowd
By Sylvia Arias, Administrative Assistant to Director of Cultural and Human Services
On Wednesday, February 15, 2006, the city hosted its monthly Sunny Serenade concert at Samson Oceanfront Park. Unlike the last few events which have proven challenging due to weather conditions, the evening provided clear skies and a cool breeze throughout the night, paving the way for a fabulous event! The music was a high energy flamenco pop sound mixed with tropical rhythms, performed by PAYE. This was a new style of music at our monthly series, and it proved to be extremely popular among our residents. The event brought out huge numbers of listeners, totaling over 300 towards the end of the evening.
Many people chose to dance and show off their talents, while others chose to sit back and bop with the rhythms. The group also had a flamenco dancer performing on stage, for the enjoyment of everyone. The night was a huge success and we look forward to seeing many more of you out there at our next concert on Wednesday, March 15th!
