City names beach access
in honor of Ellen Mooney Wynne

The
Sunny Isles Beach City Commission recently passed a resolution naming the
192nd Street beach access in honor of long time Golden Shores resident
Ellen Mooney Wynne.
At the Feb. 19 City Commission meeting, Commissioner Lewis Thaler noted, "For
the past 50 years, Ellen Mooney Wynne has been an outstanding member of the city.She
has engaged in many civic, philanthropic, historic and environmental activities
- not only for the betterment of Sunny Isles Beach and Golden Shores -but also
for the entire South Florida community."
Expressing the sentiments of the entire Commission, Mayor Norman Edelcup added, "Each
of us wants to wish Ellen the best. We're very fortunate that Sunny Isles Beach
has her as our 'historic resident.' We hope she'll be here to guide us for many
years in the future.Her words of wisdom have always been appreciated."
Commending the City Commission, City Manager and members of city staff, Wynne
noted, "We have a group of great people working together for the good of our
city.Thanks to all. You have given me a great gift - the gift of immortality."
