There was a great turn out (about 300) for the first meeting of the school with Principal Annette Weissman
On February 6th, about 300 adults and children attended the first school meeting with Principal Annette Weissman who explained what was being planned and expected in the new school. She informed them the school was on schedule and should be opened as planned in August. The parents were also told that all students will be bussed to the school. Questions asked by the parents and students, were then answered by Principal Weissman and her staff.
There were more than 220 people on the Valentine’s cruise on February 14th and all reported having a great time. There was food, drink and a two hour cruise of the Intracoastal. Plans are underway for another cruise which will take place on Mother’s Day, May 11th. Call Cultural and Human Resources at 305 792-1706 and reserve your place early.
On Friday, February 22nd, 178th Street was renamed City Commissioner Danny Iglesias Street in his honor for all the work he did for the City as a Commissioner for ten years.
You asked for them and now twenty-nine bus stations are covered. Seventeen more bus stations will have them by the end of the year.
The Pelican Community Park is now due to open in March and it looks great. Wait until the teams see the little league field. Take a drive or walk and see for yourself – it’s at 182nd Street, next to the school.
My family, Madi and I thank you for your condolences you have expressed on the death of my father, Milton.
