Mayor Norman S. Edelcup Visits Sister City Group in Fort Lauderdale

Mayor Norman Edelcup represented the City of Sunny Isles Beach at a Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister City International function to welcome the Mayor of Haifa Israel, Yona Yahav. The February 18, 2004 event at Mezzanotte, Los Olas Riverfront downtown Fort Lauderdale capped off a day of touring the greater Fort Lauderdale area. Mayor Yahav visited museums, ports, plazas, and parks, as well as other local attractions.

 

Nancy Rosen, Chairperson of the Haifa / Fort Lauderdale Sister City Committee, arranged the event including special guests, Mayor Naugle from Fort Lauderdale, Mayor Ilene Lieberman of Broward County, and Honorable Consul General Miki Arbel. Mayor Yahav is the second mayor from Haifa to visit Fort Lauderdale. Nancy invited Sunny Isles Beach to the event, as the City is planning to sister city with Netanya, an ocean resort community in Israel. It was an honor to attend.
