Department Staff Member Honored
By Robert C. Solera, Assistant Administrator
The
City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Building Department were honored recently at
a ceremony held in the Miami Airport Hilton. The ceremony was the Cuban American
Association of Engineers' yearly gathering.
As part of the ceremony The Francisco de Albear Award was given to Jaime A. Mitrani,
Chief Structural Plans Examiner, City of Sunny Isles Beach, for his various work
and contributions to the engineering field in the United States as well as in
Cuba.
Mr.
Mitrani started working with the City of Sunny Isles Beach as a structural
plans examiner in September, 1999. He was appointed in September, 2003
to the position of Chief Structural Plans Examiner by the city and has
held this position since. He holds licenses from the Florida Board of Professional
Engineers, The National Council for Engineering and Surveying, The Florida
Building Code Administrator and Inspector Board, and is a certified Floodplain
Manager.
At the ceremony City of Sunny Isles Beach Commissioner Danny Iglesias, active
member of the organization, delivered an award and a message from City Manager
Christopher J. Russo expressing gratitude from the City of Sunny Isles Beach
to the City's employee, Jaime Mitrani, acknowledging his contribution to the
development of the city. Commissioner Iglesias also highlighted the work of the
department under the guidance of Building Official Clayton L. Parker.
Needless to say the Building Department and the City of Sunny Isles Beach are
very proud of Jaime A. Mitrani. What a privilege it is for the Building Department
to have this high caliber Chief Structural Plans Examiner among its ranks, and
what an advantage it is to the community at large.
