City of Sunny Isles Logo

The Blue Grass Motel built in 1951 is located at 18325 Collins Avenue. This building is another example of Miami Modern (MIMO) architecture with structural elements including: a castle curtain wall, an angular roadside neon sign, a jockey on a horse marquee, individual bungalows, and portholes windows. Its horse racing theme was integrated in a mural in the restaurant.

The Blue Grass remains part of Sunny Isles Beach as a motel/condo conversion on 2 ½ sub-tropical acres. This tourist enclave maintains privacy in a captivating and relaxing atmosphere.
