Welcome New Assistant City Attorney

Erica Wright is a cum laude graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and the University of Miami School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the states of Florida and Georgia and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In 2004, she became a board certified attorney by the Florida Bar in the area of City, County and Local Government law.

Before becoming an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Sunny Isles Beach, she worked for four and a half years as an assistant city attorney for the City of Miami Office of the City Attorney in its General Government Division. There, she reviewed, drafted and negotiated numerous contracts for the City of Miami and provided counsel to city officials, staff, departments and agencies. Prior to becoming an assistant city attorney, Ms. Wright worked in private practice as a civil litigator.

Ms. Wright is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Law Alumni Association of the University of Miami School of Law and the American Bar Association. For four years, she also served on the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section.
