FIU Jazz Band performs in Sunny Isles Beach

On Wednesday, April 18 th, the FIU Jazz Band performed at Samson Oceanfront Park for the city’s monthly Sunny Serenade Concert Series. An 18-piece band, led by Dr. Sam Lussier, kept the crowd clapping, stomping, and dancing to fabulous tunes from many eras.

The crowd also enjoyed a performance by participants of the recreational cheerleading program. Two groups, led by Coach Kathleen Stone, Coach Valori O’Brien, and Coach Kellea McGehee, performed two cheers, to show off their hard work and practice over the winter and spring months. These cheerleaders will also be performing at our upcoming special event, Family Fun Day, on Saturday May 5 th, 2007, from 2:00–6:00pm, at Senator Gwen Margolis Park ( 17815 North Bay Road).
