Sunny Skies, Scrambled Eggs, and Beach Balls!
By Sylvia Flores, Administrative Assistant to CHS Director
Over 400 people attended the city’s annual Egg Scramble on Saturday, April 7 th, 2007. The day was perfect, with sunny skies, light winds, and hundreds of smiling children ready to scramble for their share of over 2000 eggs.
There were games, crafts, music, photo opportunities with the spring bunny, and a fun-filled egg hunt. Children ages 1 through 12 lined up patiently, waiting on their chance to scramble through a sea of beach balls and find as many toy-filled eggs as possible. Eight lucky winners found a golden egg, which they traded in for a Spongebob Squarepants gift basket.
Volunteers worked for days preparing supplies for the event, including inflating over 2000 beach balls for the egg hunt. Guests of the event were able to take home the beach balls as souvenirs, along with the fond memories of a fun-filled day among friends and neighbors in Sunny Isles Beach.
Join us for our next special event, Family Fun Day, on Saturday, May 5 th, 2007. The festivities begin at 2:00pm, at Senator Gwen Margolis Park (17815 North Bay Road), with games, crafts, music, rides, and a special awards presentation for our youth program participants (including soccer, cheerleading, and basketball). This event is FREE admission to everyone. For more information, call 305.792.1706.
