Family Fun Day Celebrates
Spring Soccer Season 2004

 A fun day in the park
with games, music, and laughter was how the spring soccer season 2004 for Sunny
Isles Beach came to an end. Soccer participants were treated to a hot dog and
drink and an afternoon full of fun that included the opportunity to dunk their
coach in the dunk tank.
 Younger children
enjoyed an inflatable obstacle course and water slide while the more daring
guests tried out the orbitron that sent them upside down and all around.
Everyone had a turn getting their face or arm painted just for the fun
of it!
Music and interactive games were provided by All About Entertainment. Guests
played fun games like Simon Says and won silly prizes. But the main attraction
was the awards presentation. Each soccer player was called by name and came onto
the stage to receive their medal. Mayor Norman Edelcup presented each coach with
a plaque in appreciation of their successful season that provided the players
with a positive soccer experience.
 
Special awards went to the following players:
Good Sportsmanship Award - Tomas Gowland (U6), Ilya Alperovich (U6), Jonah
Hinojosa (U6), Daniel Grek (U8), Achot Putulyan (U8), Brandon Talalaevsky (U10),
Edgar Alza (U12), David Elkouby (U12), Diego Echevarria (U14), and Gilberto
Maakaroun (U14).
Most Improved Player Award - Ernie Valladares (U6), Sebastian Puig (U6), Benjamin
Bouganim (U6), Alec Talalaevsky (U8), Tomas Moffatt (U10), Rosmel Azvaje (U12),
Lucas Moline (U12), Juan Bareno (U14), and Anderson Palacio (U14).
Plaques were also presented to the sponsor of each team. Sponsors provided
quality uniforms for each player with the sponsor name prominently displayed
on the back. City Manager Christopher Russo gave a heartfelt thanks to all
our sponsors for this season which included: Calvin, Giordano, & Associates;
Pios & Sons; Klassman Realty; Spillis, Candela, & Associates; and Luke's
Landscaping.
Congratulations to all of our coaches, sponsors, and players on a very successful
soccer season!
