Gun safety lock give away
at SIB Police Department
The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is offering free firearm safety locks
to residents of Sunny Isles Beach through a partnership with the U.S. Department
of Justice and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. These safety locks will
be available to gun owners as part of the "Project ChildSafe Program".
Project ChildSafe, a program developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation
(NSSF), will distribute millions of firearm safety locks to all 50 states over
the next year. The safety locks are just one way to prevent accidents. Guns are
often an object of fascination for children and the consequences of a child finding
a loaded weapon are obvious. The use of a gunlock is just one part of responsible
gun ownership. The locks are free, and have the potential to save a life.
The cable style safety locks will fit most types of handguns, rifles and/or shotguns
and are available at the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department or by contacting
(305) 947-4440.
