“Splash: Water Safety Program”

As part of Beach Safety Awareness Week - May 22-29, Sunny Isles Beach lifeguards conducted a “Splash: Water Safety Program” at the library on May 31st. More than 35 children and parents attended. They learned to distinguish between the different beach flag colors and got to practice using real lifeguard equipment (including sounding the sirens on beach emergency vehicles). They also learned about other beach hazards like lightening, dangerous marine life, and the need to get protection from the sun.
