Merry Wynne
Ellen Wynne moved with her family, including her daughter Merry, to Golden Shores in 1952. In Ellen’s own words:
“I first saw Golden Shores on May 13, 1952 when I moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Miami, Florida with my husband, Charles, and our four young children. I was under doctor’s orders to move as far south as I could, and to live on the Ocean. The fact that my husband was one of the first computer analysts and was sure he could find a job, made it easy for us to relocate.

While driving on A1A (Collins Avenue), which was a two-lane highway then, we saw a trailer parked at 189 Street with a sign that read, “Homes and Lots for Sale.” The ocean was in plain view. When we stopped and got out of the car, we felt the wind and the ocean spray – it was love at first sight. I knew right then that this is where I wanted to live, and so did my family. It was just what the doctor ordered.”

Congratulations to all who were honored at the program for the longest-residing residents.
