City's Building Official
Named Florida's Building Official of the Year

At
the Building Officials Association of Florida's yearly conference held recently
in St. Augustine, Clayton L. Parker, Building Official/ Administrator for the
City of Sunny Isles Beach, was named Florida's Building Official of the Year.
Robert McCormick, Executive Director of the Association made the announcement
and presented the Building Official of the Year Award.
Chosen to win the award from four nominees, Mr. Parker has held the position
of building official with the City of Sunny Isles Beach since June 2001. He holds
licenses from the State of Florida as Building Administrator, Chief Building
Inspector and Plans examiner, and has a license as a General Contractor from
the State. Prior to coming to Sunny Isles Beach, Clay had 17 years experience
with the City of Ft. Lauderdale.
The City's Building Department has been a member of the Building Officials Association
of Florida for a number of years, with staff being very active in the local chapter
of the South Florida Building Officials Association. This organization provides
a forum for contractors and municipal building officials to exchange the latest
information related to any and all building trades.
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is very proud of Clay and sees his award as a reflection
of the high-level of professionalism and dedication that City of Sunny Isles
Beach staff is bringing to the community at large.
