Library summer events for kids

During the 6-week Summer Reading program, the Sunny Isles Beach Branch Library held more than twenty children's programs such as Talent show, Toddler tales, Book club, Pirate show, Braille system, Drawing, Treasure hunt @ the library, Midsummer night's stories & Music around the world, Face painting and many more.
More than 250 young students under age of 18 participated in the Summer Reading Program. The theme of this year was Books Ahoy which went on from June 3rd thru July 30th. Once children completed four hours of reading in a week, they could submit a reading log for weekly drawing. There was total of 421 reading logs submitted.
The lucky winners of various awards were: Angelika Baringolts who won two tickets to Seaquarium, Pablo Medina to Wannado city, Michelle Mikhailov - Museum of Science, Julissa Tello -Fairchild tropical garden, Ariela Stein - Metrozoo, and Angelika Baringolts to Children's museum.
The Face painting event was held on August 9th to celebrate the beginning of the school year. Spiderman, crane, and stars were children’s favorite paintings. Teen volunteers, Leo Mekertin and Valentina Prada, assistend library staff to make the program a success.
