The City of Sunny
Isles Beach and Temple B’nai Zion honors fire and police chiefs

than 200 people attended ceremonies at Temple B’nai Zion on Sunday, October
17, 2004 to honor Chief Fred Maas, Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, and
Chief Christine Rogers, Miami-Dade
Fire Department.
This program
was chaired by Rabbi Mayer Abramowitz of Temple B’nai
Zion. The greeting was given by Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez
Rundle. Invocation was provided by Father Tom Honold who is also one
of the Sunny Isles Beach Police Chaplains.
 The special award to Chief
Christine Rogers was presented by Isaac Franco, President of Temple
B’nai Zion. Mayor Norman S. Edelcup presented
Chief Maas with his special award.
These awards signify
the recognition of our citizens in appreciation of the dedication,
hard work, loyalty,
and the everyday “putting
their lives on the line” for all the citizens not only in our
community, but across this nation.
