A Special Thank You

The aftermath of Hurricane Wilma was a difficult time for many. Streets were covered with debris, power was out for most of the county, and for those of us with special needs, this time proved to be extremely dangerous.

I need nebulizer treatments daily in order to breathe properly but my machine requires electricity in order to run. Because I had no power at my house, I could not do my daily treatments. As a result, I had to depend on the generosity of others. I want to take this opportunity to extend a special THANK YOU to the following for the kindness and understanding:

• First to the wonderful Miami Dade Fire Department Station House in Sunny Isles Beach, who kindly provided me with breathing treatments immediately following the hurricane.
• Second, to Navarro Discount Pharmacies who has continuously allowed me to use their electricity for my machine.
• Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to Sergeant Don Reynolds, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department and staff for generously spending their time everyday delivering ice and water to the residents of Golden Shores and other areas throughout Sunny Isles Beach.

To all of these people, and the many others who lent a helping hand during the recovery, I say “Thank you”!
