City Receives $200K for Stormwater Projects

State Rep. Dan Gelber and his two adorable daughters recently helped present a check in the amount of $200,000 to the City of Sunny Isles Beach from the South Florida Water Management District. The funds were secured for stormwater drainage improvements in the city thanks to efforts made by Gelber, Sen. Gwen Margolis and the office of Ronald L. Book.

At the Nov. 18 City Commission meeting, Gelber noted, “We’re pleased to bring this money to Sunny Isles Beach. You have a wonderful city government, your citizens are terrific and you deserve everything you get…When it’s time to prioritize, the South Florida Water Management District puts city’s needs at the top of the list.”

The City Commission was also pleased to learn the Dade leadership delegation intends to facilitate the presentation of yet another $200,000 check to the city this year for stormwater projects.
