Israel Film Festival Opening Night Gala

The 20th anniversary Israel Film Festival took place at the Sunrise Intracoastal Cinema on Wednesday, December 1, 2004. Over 300 people attended the opening night Gala. The Festival honored Michael Dezer with the 2004 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Michael Putney of Channel 10.

Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Norman S. Edelcup presented two proclamations at the festival. The first proclamation was given to founder and Executive Director Meir Fenigstein for years of dedication to the Israel Film Festival. The second proclamation went to Michael Dezer, highlighting his career as a developer both in New York and in Sunny Isles Beach. The proclamation also proclaimed that Wednesday, December 1, 2004 be named Michael Dezer Day in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
