“A 50TH Anniversary”

More than 800 faithful parishioners and invited guests attended a special St. Mary Magdalen Church mass celebrating their 50th Anniversary as Catholic Parish in honor of the foundation of the Church Sunday, December 4, 2005.
Participating in this Historic Ceremony were Reverend John Clement Favalora, Archbishop of Miami, Monsignor Lawrence Conway, Monsignor Michael A. Souckar, Reverend Andrew L. Anderson, Vicar Officials, Metropolitan Tribunal, Reverend Thomas Honold and Reverend Francoise Gingras.
Representing the City of Sunny Isles Beach were Mayor Norman S. Edelcup, Commissioner Gerry Goodman, Police Chief and Interim City Manager Fred Maas, and City Historian Richard C. Schulman.
A mission of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church is to build a community of diverse nations representing 33 nations with three different languages. St. Mary Magdalen Church represents a community of faith, hope and love with over 1,500 parishioners attending weekly mass.
A beautiful reception followed the specials ceremonies.
