Performing at 1st Annual Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest – October 17-19, 2008

The inaugural Sunny Isles Beach 2008 Jazz Fest announces an artist line-up that will bring cool jazz to the beautiful city. This event promises to generate excitement within the South Florida community and abroad; attracting both local audiences and tourists from around the world.

Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest will celebrate the extraordinary diverse sounds of jazz music the weekend of October 17-19, 2008; produced by the City of Sunny Isles Beach in partnership with the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association along with the Best Buddies Organization (www.bestbuddies.org). Event corporate sponsors include Le Meridien Sunny Isles Beach, Acqualina Resort & Spa, Trump International Beach Resort, St. Tropez Condominiums, Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Adrienne Arsht Center For The Performing Arts, PACT, SocialMiami.com, Around Town Magazine, Epicure Marketplace, Key Transportation, and Lukes Landscaping.

The event will feature world-renowned celebrity jazz entertainers, notable jazz artists, and several illustrious music groups. Headlining the event will be Florida-born and world renowned saxophone player, The David Sanborn Group. Sanborn has released twenty three albums and won two Grammy awards which have led him to inspire other musicians. This “must attend” Jazz Fest will also feature the sounds of local Miami Latin jazz artists.

The Jazz Fest weekend will kick off its events on Thursday, October 16th with an Evening VIP Poster-Signing Party. On Friday, October 17th Roberto Perera will perform at Supper Club at Le Meridien Sunny Isles Beach and a performance by George Tandy will follow at After Hours at the Acqualina Resort and Spa. On Saturday, the weekend’s main event will take place at Samson Oceanfront Park with the sounds of The David Sanborn Group and opening act George Tandy. The weekend filled with cool jazz sounds will come to a close on Sunday, October 19th with a Jazz Luncheon starring Nicole Henry at the Trump International Resort.

Tickets for Friday’s events will be $15 per person for each performance, $20 per person for Saturday’s event with The David Sanborn Group. The cost of food and beverages is not included in the cost of Friday and Saturday’s tickets. Saturday’s jazz event will be a night under the stars and guests may bring blankets and chairs. Tickets for Sunday’s Jazz Luncheon starring Nicole Henry at the Trump International Beach Resort will be $55 per person. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.sunnyislesbeachjazz.com.

The Sunny Isles Beach Jazz Fest will showcase and highlight the best that the City of Sunny Isles Beach has to offer including: great food, fine dining, exclusive resorts and much more! Up-close and personal, set amid the backdrop of 2 ½ miles of the Atlantic Ocean, held in one of the most beautiful oceanfront parks, and at various beachfront resorts, the Jazz Fest will be enjoyed by all who attend.
