Where in the world is the Sunny Isles Beach Sun?

Perhaps in Casablanca, Morocco casablanca

Alex Vinokur of Winston Towers holds the Sunny Isles Beach Sun Community Newspaper at Hasan II Mosque built between 1986 and 1993 for the 60th birthday of former Moroccan king Hassan II. The Mosque has space for 25,000 worshippers inside and another 80,000 outside. The minaret is the tallest in the world standing at 210-meter. The minaret is visible day and night for miles around.

The architect was French but the Mosque is Moroccan through and through. Except for the white granite columns and the glass chandeliers all the materials used to construct the mosque were taken from the Morocco region. Six thousand traditional Moroccan artisans worked for five years to turn out mosaics, stone and marble floors, columns, sculpted plaster moldings, and carved and painted wood ceilings. Modern touches to the building include the structural ability to withstand earthquakes, a heated floor, electric doors, a sliding roof, and lasers which shine at night from the top of the minaret toward Mecca.

When you travel, take a copy of the Sunny Isles Beach Sun newspaper with you, pose with the paper in front of a landmark or with your group. Send the photo with the highlights of your trip to the address below. If you would like your original photograph returned, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your correspondence.
