Halloween in the City

By Anna Levin, Events Coordinator

One of the city’s most creative, outrageous and original Halloween celebrations is underway in Sunny Isles Beach. This year’s Booogie by the Beach will include our brand new haunted house, games, rides, crafts, trick or treat stations, food, music, dancing, a costume contest, a scarecrow contest, and much more.

Booogie by the Beach will take place Friday, October 31st, 2008 from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. at our new Pelican Community Park, 18115 North Bay Road.

For a hair-raising good time, visit the ghoulish two-story Haunted House, join us on 182 Drive for carnival rides, or dance and take pictures in our pumpkin patch on the baseball field. Everyone is encouraged to dress in costume for an evening of fun. Admission to the event is free but entrance to the haunted house is $1.

The 1st annual Scarecrow Contest will be held at 8p.m. on the baseball field. Registration starts at 7:00 p.m. and individuals will be entered in one of the following categories:

- Youth (ages 8 to 12), no help from adults please.
- Teens
- Adults

The City of Sunny Isles Beach will again host the Annual Costume Contest. Registrations will be taken on site until 8:30 p.m. and the contest will begin at 9:00 p.m. Contestants will be divided into the same age categories as above with one additional category for youth ages up to 8. Winners receive crowns for categories including: Scariest Costume, Most Creative Costume, Cutest, and Best Overall Costume. Prizes are awarded in each category.

Halloween in Sunny Isles Beach will surely be more exciting this year than ever before so make a plan now, get a costume, and start looking forward to one of the city’s most celebrated yearly events!
