The Cultural & Human Services Department hosted the city’s annual Family Fun Day celebration on Saturday, May 2nd, at Town Center Park. Families covered the park for the annual event which hosted over 1300 guests. Family Fun day was open to the community, and activities included rides, games, crafts, live animal presentation, food, and more. The highlight of the event was our annual athletic awards ceremony, hosted by our Athletics Coordinator, Matthew High. The awards were presented to participants of the city’s recreational basketball, baseball, Under-10 Travel League soccer, and cheerleading program. The coaches for the various sports received awards as well, along with a trophy for “Coach of the Year” to our basketball coach, Cesar Moreno, and runner-up “Coach of the Year”, Michelle Mellgren, our cheerleading coach.
Thank you to our vendors Noah’s Arc Animal Workshop and Half Moon Empanadas, and a special thanks to Denny’s and Epicure Market for participating and supporting our community events.
“We are pleased to offer a family friendly event for our local community and welcome the opportunity to allow our families to relax, dance to music and enjoy time together.” said Susan Simpson, Director of Cultural & Human Services.
