Bingo, June 3rd, 2009 – FREE
2:00pm, Sunny Isles Beach Gov’t Center, Commission Chambers (18070 Collins Avenue)
Come with friends and neighbors and enjoy some friendly games of bingo. Small prizes will be awarded to winners. This event is hosted in partnership with North Collins Bingo Palace. Participation is free but call ahead to reserve your seat (305.792.1706).
Golden Era Film Series, June 9th, 2009 – FREE
10:00am – 12:00pm, Pelican Community Park Community Center (18115 North Bay Road)
Come with friends and neighbors and enjoy a Golden Era classic film. Some previous showings include It’s A Wonderful Life, Viva Las Vegas, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. To find out this month’s feature film, contact us at 305.792.1706. This event is free, but you must call ahead to reserve your seat.
Four Seasons Concert, June 10th, 2009
7:30 – 9:00pm, Sunny Isles Beach Gov’t Center, Commission Chambers (18070 Collins Avenue)
This new concert series will be presented quarterly to help make classical music accessible for all ages in our community. This second installment of the series will present an International String Quartet. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Pelican Community Park, Community Center. Ticket price is $5.00 for residents, $10 for non-residents. Space is limited so register early!
Foreign Film Series (in partnership with FIU – Osher Lifelong Learning Institute), Fridays, June 12th – July 3rd
10:30 am – 1:00pm, Sunny Isles Beach Gov’t Center, Commission Chambers (18070 Collins Avenue)
Dueling Lenses / Israel and Palestine: This course, offered by Florida International University, will explore four films with varying points of view on conflict, romance, and comedy and how they affect the human condition in this fragile part of the world. City’s 12th Anniversary Celebration and Offshore Powerboat Challenge, June 14th, 2009 – FREE
12:00pm – 4:00pm, Samson Oceanfront Park (17425 Collins Avenue)
Come and celebrate the City’s 12th Anniversary. This festive day will include live musical entertainment, food, games, rides, giveaways, and as always, good company! All residents are invited to join us for a special cake cutting ceremony in honor of the city’s 12 years of incorporation. FREE parking will be available along the north side of 174th Street and at the municipal parking lot at 175th Street and Atlantic Blvd. The City will be running special event shuttle buses throughout the city for your convenience.
