‘Summer Meltdowns’

Studies have shown the weather can affect health and behaviors – so maybe it’s the heat outside that’s causing people around town to have spontaneous combustions like these:

Coupon Denial: There may be nothing more frustrating than watching a customer at Publix rant and rave after being told the coupon they want to use is no longer valid. Hopefully, you won’t be waiting to pay for anything like ice cream than can melt while the meltdown the coupon wielding customer is having is diffused by another generous two for one offer that won’t expire for another 60 seconds!

Fender Benders: If someone ever rear ends you because they were texting, try not to get too agitated. The good news is the Sunny Isles Beach Police will arrive in minutes – with not just one, but maybe three or four squad cars to handle the call. And if it’s a really slow day, don’t be surprised if the K-9 unit arrives to sniff out contraband like all those extra packets of Splenda stashed in the console!

Gym Brawls:  If you’ve ever seen people get a little impatient while waiting to use a machine at the gym, the best way to get them to stop hovering is to courteously say, “Go ahead and jump in – you need it more than I do anyway!”

Ticked Off: If you want to get your turkey (sliced extra thin) take a deep breath to keep your cool when you’re asked to take a ticket…even though you’re the only one there!
And if you happen to be #129 when they’re only up to #3 at the cell phone store, relax and use the downtime to delete all your old messages, photos and ex’s numbers.

Calm & Cool: While it’s sometimes hard to avoid a “summer meltdown,” one of the greatest coping mechanisms to stay calm is thinking about all thebenefits of life in the city like the Sunny Isles Beach cool Jazz Fest being presented for the second year on Oct. 16-18 in cooperation with the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association!
