Public Works Pipeline

What is electronic waste or “e-waste” as we call it?  The most common types of home-generated e-waste include electric typewriters, printers, copy machines, scanners, fax machines, video game consoles, televisions, cell phones, cameras, hair dryers, and batteries.

Blame technological advances for the stockpile of e-waste that you have in the back corner of your closet.  Most people do not know how to properly dispose of these items.  Well here is your opportunity.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Sally A. Heyman is sponsoring the “Electronic Waste Collection Event” on Sunday, August 30th 2009 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Haulover Park (next to marina) 10800 Collins Avenue.  Questions about this event can be answered by calling Commissioner Heyman’s office at (305) 787-5999.

Did you know that you can now dispose of cell phones, printer cartridges, and many types of batteries at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center?  Visit Shaun Gelvez, Administrative Assistant to the Public Works Director, on the 4th floor for information.

Reduce. Recycle. Reuse.
