The Cultural & Human Services department hosts events throughout the year, many of which are free. Here you will find a listing of the upcoming events, and any important information you should know in order to attend.
Sunny Serenade, October 21st, 2009 – FREE
7:30pm, Samson Oceanfront Park, 17425 Collins Ave.
Enjoy an evening of great music in the park as our fall season kicks off. Refreshments will be for sale. The free City Shuttle service will be making stops according to the “Special Events Schedule” beginning at 6:00pm. Sunny Isles Beach Police will be available to provide safe crossing for pedestrians. Parking will be available along the north side of174th Street and the municipal parking lot on 175th and Atlantic Blvd. Performer: The Fabulons
Booogie by the Beach, October 30th and 31st, 2009-Residents- Admission FREE, some activities may have a nominal fee. 7:00-11:00p.m., Pelican Community Park

Family Movie Night, November 7th, 2009-FREE
Enjoy a movie under the stars with family and friends. Games & activities for the children prior to the movie. Food will be available for purchase.

Golden Era Film Series, November 10th, 2009– FREE
10:00am – 12:00pm, Pelican Community Park Community Center (18115 North Bay Road)
Come with friends and neighbors and enjoy a Golden Era classic film. Some previous showings include It’s A Wonderful Life, Viva Las Vegas, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. To find out this month’s feature film, contact us at 305.792.1706. This event is free, but you must call ahead to reserve your seat and lunch.
Battle of the Bands, November 14th, 2009- $5 Admission Fee
7:00pm-9:00pm, Pelican Community Park Gymnasium (18115 North Bay Road)
Come and rock to the sounds of teen bands competing at our First Annual Battle of the Bands Event. The event will be held at the Pelican Community Park where six bands will compete for first place. More information to come.
