To promote the city of Sunny Isles Beach, the city’s Administrative Services Department sponsors an annual photo contest. To qualify, a photograph must be of a scene taken in the city. This year, contestants submitted more than 240 photographs. Many local residents entered the contest as well as visitors from France, Germany and New York.
The winning photographs were revealed at the December 17, 2009 City Commission Meeting, and Mayor Norman Edelcup recognized the winners of the 2010 Photo Contest by presenting each with a trophy. This year’s winners are:

- Sam Matter

Winning images are featured in the city’s 2010 Calendar that is being distributed to residents at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Avenue. (Inquire at the Information desk in the lobby.) The supply is limited and available on a first-come basis. The 2010 Calendars are also available for purchase in the SIB Visitor Center, 18070 Collins Avenue.
We urge all interested photographers to start ‘clicking’ now for next year’s photo contest – photographs must be of a scene in the city of Sunny Isles Beach, in hi resolution and not ‘Photoshopped.’ In the fall of 2010, the rules and deadline for next year’s photo contest will be published in the Sunny Isles Beach Sun Community Newspaper, on SIB TV Cable Channel 77 and on the City’s website: www.sibfl.net.
