The Cultural & Human Services department hosts events throughout the year, many of which are free. Here you will find a listing of the upcoming events, and any important information you should know in order to attend.
Family Fun Day– Saturday, May 1, 2010 - FREE
2:00 – 6:00 pm, Pelican Community Park, (18115 North Bay Road)
Enjoy a Family Day of Fun under the Big Top filled with entertainment, carnival rides, clowns, crafts and music. There will also be a special awards presentation for our recreation program participants (basketball, cheerleading, soccer, and baseball) starting promptly at 2:00 pm. Fun foods will be available for purchase. Parking will be available in the Sunny Isles Beach Community School garage.
Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens, Coral Gables, Wednesday, May 5

With its beautiful paths, vistas and outstanding exhibits, the garden provides every visitor with an unforgettable experience. Enjoy and afternoon touring this 83-acre garden recognized as one of the region’s most popular visitor attractions. Afternoon includes tram tour and lunch. Heavy walking required. Price: $35.00 residents, $40.00 non-residents and includes round-trip transportation and a boxed lunch. The City Shuttle Bus departs City Hall at 9:30 am for Fairchild Tropical Garden. Purchase tickets in-person at the Sunny Isles Beach Visitor Center located on the first floor of the Government Center or at Pelican Community Park, located at 18115 North Bay Road.
Sunny Serenade, May 19th, 2010 – FREE
7:30pm – 9:00pm, Samson Oceanfront Park (17425 Collins Avenue)
The city hosts the Sunny Serenade Concert Series from September thru May, at Samson Oceanfront Park, typically on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. The May concert will feature the Magic City Band. These concerts are FREE and open to the public. The event includes live musical entertainment, and refreshments for sale. Parking is available along the north side of 174th Street and in the municipal parking lot located at 175th Street and Atlantic Avenue, and the city shuttle bus will be running the special events schedule.
