Sunny Isles Beach Community School soared to success at a recent district math competition. The Primary Grade Team was composed of third grade students - Irene Stepensky, Dylan Santana, Sebastian Armas and Samantha Resnick earned 4th place in the relay competition and 3rd place in the overall competition. The Intermediate Grade Team was composed of fourth and fifth grade students, Elena Sotolongo (4), Lee Friedman (4), Daniela Obolevitch (5) and Isaac Favata (5). Daniela Obolevitch won 2nd Place in the Individual Competition. The Middle Grade Team was composed of 6th grade students – Ava Grossman, Victoria Gnip, Michael Goutnik, Mitchel Zitsbank- captured 3rd place in the overall competition. The Middle School Grade 7 Team, composed of Daniel Kroytor, Mariana Lombello, Diego Fernandez and Laura Gonzales, won 2nd place in the overall competition and Mariana Lombello was 2nd place in the Individual competition.
Sunny Isles Beach Community School is so proud of its young mathematicians and scholars. In addition to participating in these weekend events, the school conducts in-house math bowls to promote academic excellence. The students at SIBCS are excited about their math studies and look forward to competing in more contests.
