Andy Brose, a resident of Sunny Isles Beach, was involved in the design and development of many of the key components to the Avco Lycoming T53 L13 engine which was originally used in helicopters.  This engine model was also adapted to power the Miss Geico race boat exceeding speeds of 200 miles per hour.
