SIB Mayor George “Bud” Scholl Honors the Passing of Irving Turetsky

(September 1, 2015) – Irving Turetsky was an exceptional figure in the formation of our great City and his life was spent in service to his country and his local community. Among his many professional accomplishments were his service in the Army Air Force, serving as President of Temple B’nai Zion, being elected to the first Sunny Isles Beach City Commission, and later serving as the first Vice Mayor on the City Commission. Personally, he was a true gentleman and was known for his extraordinary kindness. At the age of 92, he passed away and will be truly missed.
