Summer Camp

During summer vacation, the City offers several camp options for children ranging in age from 3 to 16 years old. See Summer Camp Brochure

Various camps are in session Monday, June 13 – Friday, August 19, 2011. All the camp schedules are listed below.

Registration Information
2011 Registration forms are available at Pelican Community Park or download one here. In order to view the file, you should download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Completed forms and fees are required to hold your reservation. Once the camp reaches full capacity, a waiting list is formed.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance with some camp fees is available (financial assistance applies only to Camp SIB and Sports Camp; financial assistance DOES NOT apply to any of the Specialty Camps, Junior Lifeguard Camp, or Camp Tot-Lot). To be considered for financial assistance, you must be a Sunny Isles Beach resident and your total household annual income must be less than $40,000. If you meet these requirements and are interested in applying, you must fill out an application (available at Pelican Community Park or download here) and submit, along with all required documentation (see guidelines in the Application Form), by April 30th, 2011 to the Cultural & Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park (Attn: Summer Camp 2011 Financial Aid).

Camp Tot Tot-Lot
Half-day camp available for children ages 3 and 4 years old. Toddlers have an opportunity to interact with other children for the first time in a school setting. Activities include art, music, sports, and yoga.

Camp SIB Freshman
Full-day camp available for children ages 5 thru 8. Participants go on two field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.

Camp SIB Sophmores
Full-day camp available for children ages 9 thru 10. Participants go on two field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.

Camp SIB Juniors
Full-day camp available for children ages 11 and 12. Participants go on three field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.

Camp SIB Seniors
Full-day camp available for children ages 13 thru 15. Participants go on four field trips per week to various sites throughout Dade and Broward counties. At our camp site, participants enjoy many activities including art, crafts, science, reading, and a great deal of physical sport activity.

Junior Lifeguard Camp
Specialty camp offered for children ages 6 thru 16. This is specialized training offered by city of Sunny Isles Beach certified lifeguards. Participants learn about ocean safety, marine life, and how to deal with emergency situations in the ocean. Participants must already know how to swim.

Sport Camps
( Baseball, Basketkball, Cheerleading, Flag Football, Soccer, and Volleyball) Specialized full-day summer camps offered for children ages 5 through 14. Each camp is only one week long. All skill levels are welcome. Participants receive intensive training in the designated sport.

NEW* Specialty Camps
Full-day specialty camps are being offered in Art of Superheroes, Lego Robotics, Musical Theatre, and Circus Skills. For those participants who are interested in focusing and honing skills in one particular area, this is the right fit for you. Participants receive intensive instruction in the designated area.
