Youth Programs

Baseball
The City sponsors instructional baseball for boys and girls ages 7-12.  As with our other sports programs this one is designed to provide skill development and a recreational opportunity.  The program is run at Pelican Community Park Baseball Field, 18115 North Bay Road.  Uniform jersey and baseball cap are provided as part of the registration fee.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Soccer
The City sponsors a recreational soccer program for boys and girls ages 3-12.  The program is designed to provide skill development and a recreational opportunity to our youth.  Practices are at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, 17815 North Bay Road, except for the 3-5 year old age group which is held at Pelican Community Park Baseball Field, 18115 North Bay Road.  Games are played against other local communities on Saturdays at Senator Gwen Margolis Park.  Cleats and shin guards are required for both practices and games.   Soccer uniform is included in the registration fee.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Travel League Soccer
The City sponsors a travel league soccer program for boys and girls. Tryouts are held to field a team.  The program is designed for advanced players which play in a competitive soccer league. All practices and some games are at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, 17815 North Bay Road as some games are at other venues.  Soccer uniform is included in the registration fee.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Soccer Clinic
As part of a new program, the City will sponsor soccer for ages 5-12 for boys and girls from January to May.  Fees are due monthly with a one-time registration fee.  Participants that do not qualify for the travel league team(s), will have an opportunity to continue to practice soccer to learn new skills and refine old ones twice a week at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, 17815 North Bay Road.  Cleats and shin guards are required for practices.  Soccer t-shirt is included in the registration fee.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Cheerleading  
The City sponsors instructional cheerleading for ages 5-12 (pending on enrollment).  Practices are held at Pelican Community Park, RK Sports Center Gymnasium, 18115 North Bay Road twice a week.  Participants are encouraged to develop their skills to the highest level of their ability.  The squad cheers at basketball games and some times attend regional competitions.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Basketball
The City sponsors recreational basketball for boys and girls ages 3-14.  As with our other sports programs this one is designed to provide skill development and a recreational opportunity to our youth.  The program is run at Pelican Community Park, RK Sports Center Gymnasium, 18115 North Bay Road.  Uniforms are provided as part of the registration fee.  Games are played at the RK Sports Center Gymnasium and various locations in North Miami.  Bus transportation is provided to the games.  For more information about registration, please call the Cultural and Human Services Department at Pelican Community Park at 305.792.1706.

Softball
