Atlantic Boulevard Tree Planting Project

NEAT STREETS MIAMI GRANT:
The Neat Streets Grant provides funds for municipalities and organizations in Miami-Dade County to plant trees. This year, the City of Sunny Isles Beach was awarded a $14,000 grant.

TREE PLANTING LOCATION:
49 trees will be planted along Atlantic Boulevard at 181st Street north to North Bay Road, and on 172nd Street just west of Collins Avenue.

PROJECT GOAL:
To provide a safer and enhanced pedestrian route as an option to Collins Avenue, improve the sidewalk experience, increase shade, lower sun exposure, and improve transportation.

PROJECT TIMELINE:
This is the second phase of the City’s Tree Planting project. Tree installation will begin approximately at the end of May 2018 with a July 27, 2018 anticipated completion date.

ABOUT NEAT STREETS MIAMI:
Neat Streets Miami is a multi-jurisdictional county board dedicated to the maintenance and beautification of transportation gateways, corridors and connections. Launched by Neat Streets Miami, the Million Trees Miami Campaign is a community-wide effort to plant 1 million trees by 2020 in order to achieve a 30% tree canopy cover for Miami-Dade County.
