This year, our Halloween celebrations are going to be socially distanced and safe for everyone.
We’re hosting three socially distanced events to help you stay in the Halloween spirit.
Movie Night: Spooky Buddies
Saturday, October 10
7 – 9 pm
Location: Pelican Community Park Baseball Field, 18115 North Bay Road
Join us for a Halloween-themed family-friendly movie night featuring Spooky Buddies at the Pelican Community Park baseball field. The movie will begin at 7 pm and end at approximately 8:30 pm.
Limited capacity. Open only to residents with a valid City-issued Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID Card. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Each reservation is for a socially-distanced space on the field, that can accommodate up to 6 people. Seating is not provided, please bring your own blanket or chairs. Must present a photo ID or registration receipt for admittance to the event. Facial coverings required. Free gift for participants.
Free parking available at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center and along 181 Drive and 182 Drive.
Wednesday, October 28 – Saturday, October 31
Dress up in your Halloween costume and go on a haunted scavenger hunt around Sunny Isles Beach! We will hand out clues that direct participants to 10 different locations around the City. Collect your clues by snapping a photo at each location. A spooky prize will be awarded to those who are able to collect all 10 clues! Clues will be available starting October 28.
Free, no registration required. Facial coverings required.
Haunted Trail Ride
Saturday, October 31
7 – 9:30 pm
Location: Under the William Lehman Causeway, 19160 Collins Avenue
Brave boys and ghouls can take a spooky ride along the haunted trail. Our hayride will take passengers down the trail that runs under the William Lehman Causeway.
Open only to residents with a valid City-issued Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID Card. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Each reservation is for a designated time slot on the shuttle that can accommodate up to 6 people. Must present a photo ID or registration receipt for admittance to the event. Facial coverings required. Free gift for participants.
Free parking available at the Heritage Park garage.
Social Media Contests
Each week in October, we’re running a different social media contest for our followers to participate in. Post your best photos in line with the week’s theme and we’ll choose our favorite to win a special prize! Be sure to use #Booogie2020 in order for your photos to be submitted to the contest. Winning photos will be chosen based on creativity, relevance to the week’s theme, effort, and overall aesthetic.
Contest entries should be posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #Booogie2020. Don’t forget to follow us on these platforms as well, @CityofSIB.
Each contest will begin on Monday at 8 am and end Sunday at noon. Winners from the previous week will be announced Monday afternoon.
Week 1: All Treats, No Tricks

We want to see your best Halloween-inspired food creations. From breakfast to dinner to desserts, the spooky possibilities are endless!
Week 2: The Great Sunny Isles Beach Pumpkin
October 12 – 18
Carving a pumpkin for Halloween? We want to see it! Share your pumpkin carving masterpiece for the city to see.
Week 3: Your Haunted Home
October 19 – 25
Post your favorite photos of your home decorations. Whether it’s outside or inside, we want to see how you are showcasing your Halloween spirit.
Week 4: Dress to Impress
October 26 – November 1
Even if you’re not trick-or-treating, show us your costume. Pose in your favorite Halloween costume, and don’t forget your furry friends too. Pets are always welcome to join your photos!
