After School Programs 2018 – 2019 School Year

During the school year, the city offers two options for your child’s care after school: Afternoon Fun Zone or Storytelling Hour. The City also offers a program on Teacher Planning Days for school-aged children, All Day Fun Zone. These programs take place across from the Norman S. Edelcup K-8 School, at Pelican Community Park.

All Day Fun Zone

This program is offered on Teacher Planning Days for school-aged children.
Program Days: September 10, September 19, October 26, November 6, November 21, January 18 and April 19.
8:00 am – 6:00 pm (K-8th Grade)
*Program fee includes daily activities.

Resident: $25
Non-Resident: $40

ASP Storytelling Hour

This program is for children in Kindergarten or 1st grade who are enrolled in the Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8 School. This program is from dismissal time until 3:00 pm on each weekday, except Wednesday. The purpose of this program is to serve those families where one sibling is dismissed at 2:00 pm and the other sibling is dismissed at 3:00 pm. Students are picked up directly from their classrooms at dismissal and brought over to Pelican Community Park. Students are provided with a snack and enjoy various activities such as storytelling, arts & crafts, and physical games. Enrollment is full.

Afternoon Fun Zone

This program is for any child enrolled in the Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8. This program runs Monday through Friday (school days only), from dismissal until 6:00 pm. Students are either picked up from their classrooms or from the cafeteria, depending upon their grade level. They will be provided a snack, start their homework, and participate in various fun activities, such as arts & crafts, sports and games. Counselor to student ratio is 1:10. Enrollment is full.
