Youth Programs

The Cultural & Community Services Department offers seasonal activities year-round, for youth of all ages. Each program runs for a set period of time and meets once or twice a week.  Registration for all activities is held at the Pelican Community Park Community Center, located at 18115 North Bay Road.

After School Care

Afternoon Fun Zone

Camps

Summer Camp
grades K-10 (ages 5-15)
Summer Camp programs are available for tots through grade 8. A variety of Summer Camp programs are offered, from general day camps to sports camps, to music, art & technology camps.

Winter Break Camp

Spring 2019 Programs

Registration for Spring 2019 programs begins on Monday, February 4 for Residents/Members with a valid City-issued SIB Resident ID Card, and Monday, February 19 for Non-Residents/Non-Members.  The City will cancel courses three days prior to the first class if enrollment is insufficient. Classes listed as free still require registration. When programs fill, a waitlist will be started. Cancellations must be received in writing at least seven days in advance in order to receive a refund. No refunds are issued once classes begin. All prices & offerings are subject to change. *There are no classes on April 20 or May 27.

Cheer: Tumbling Intermediate

Cheer, Dance & Tumbling Clinic
Become an all-around cheer superstar in this all-in-one cheer based instructional program.

Code Explorers
Does your child have the potential to be a future software engineer? In this program, they will learn computational thinking and coding appropriate to their age level.
PK: This program is an awesome way to learn and explore computer science and basic programming.
NEO: & JR: Participants learn about the world of digital game design including – graphics, programming and designing – for computers, smartphone, tablets and other devices. The participants in all programs receive a take-home tablet.

FAB Fitness
Be active and develop coordination while playing exciting games!

Fine Arts: Youth
Participants will receive hands-on experience with various types of all art media.

Guitar
Students must bring their own guitar. Lessons offered by a proficient guitar instructor. Learn the basics of playing the guitar or more advanced skills depending on your level of knowledge.

Hip Hop Kids
Learn hip-hop choreography in a fun, engaging and exciting environment. Students will learn and understand rhythm and musical beats while dancing to the latest music.

Kidokinetics
This is a parent/child interactive introduction to sports class.

Kidokinetics: Mommy & Me
Enjoy this introduction to sports with your child. Other classes will be available as well for ages 3 to 6. Watch for announcement of details.

Little Tsunami Sports
Participants will be instructed in the basics of three popular sports: basketball, soccer and t-ball.

Martial Arts in the Park
Free and open to all ages, Master Sang offers instruction in Taekwondo. All skill levels are welcome.

Music Production
Learn the basics to beat programming, making music, and mixing industry standard software This program is designed to teach students the basic methods of creating music on computerized software used on both Mac and PC.

Performing Arts Clinic
Four-week clinic learning what it takes to perform in an SIB musical theater production.

Video Production
Participants will learn to capture footage for video, commercial and movie editing. Each student will be responsible for creating a project from beginning to end, from concept to final product.

Yoga: Kids
Join us for our new Kids Yoga program and learn what it means to be a “yogi.” Practicing yoga can help improve a child’s strength, flexibility, and coordination. Yoga can also improve a child’s focus, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
