December 2, 2015

City Manager Christopher Russo discussed some of the City’s current projects and fielded questions from the audience on any subject that was on their minds. The highlights were the details of the status and process for the 174th Street Drainage & Road Rehabilitation project, the Gateway Park project and the expected January start of the renovation and improvements to Samson Oceanfront Park. Senator Margolis joined City Manager Russo to discuss the upcoming award and start of construction for the Pedestrian/Emergency Bridge over the canal that separates 172nd Street from 174th Street. Senator Margolis had secured 1 million dollars from the State Legislature for this project, only to be vetoed by the Governor. Hopefully this year we can resubmit with the hope that the Governor now knows more about the importance of this project. Photo by David Gartner
