During the first 60 days from the date of the accident, only the parties involved and insurance companies with a vested interest can obtain a copy of the report. To obtain a copy of an accident report, make a request in person at the Police Department and pay a fee of $1.00 with cash or check; or submit a request by mail that includes a written request with the case number, a report fee of $1.00, payable by check or money order made payable to the City of Sunny Isles Beach, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. After the 60 days all accident reports are available to the public. The Police Department is located at the SIB Government Center, 18070 Collins Avenue, 2nd Floor, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 and is open 24/7.
