Tuesday, September 12, 2017 —
After tireless efforts to make sure the City of Sunny Isles Beach is safe for our residents, we will be re-opening the City today (Tuesday, September 12, 2017) at 12:00pm (Noon). You will not be required to show identification to enter the City. There are still active cleanup sites which include lane closures. Please follow and obey traffic directions from our Police Officers and traffic control devices (barricades, cones and directional signs where traffic lights are not functioning). Traffic will be heavy. Please drive safely and exercise patience.
Although our lock-down will be lifting today at Noon, a curfew will be put in place beginning tonight at 8:00pm through tomorrow morning until 6:00am. This curfew will continue daily until further notice. If you try to re-enter the city during curfew hours, you will need to present a valid Sunny Isles Beach identification card for re-entry (Note: a driver’s license listing your address is sufficient). This is for the safety of everyone.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
