The City of Sunny Isles Beach is located on a barrier island in the northeast corner of Miami Dade County and over the last two decades, has transformed from “motel row” to a real community, A World Class City.
The Sunny Isles Beach Government Center provides a centralized location for all of your needs (including most City Departments, a satellite branch of the United States Post Office, and the Sunny Isles Beach branch library, and a Visitor Center, offering a wealth of information for tourists and residents). This World Class City boasts 11 community parks throughout our 1.25 square miles, including a community center at Pelican Community Park, offering athletic and recreation programs, cultural events, fitness memberships, and facility rentals. The City was excited to open our first school, Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8 in 2008. The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, recognized at both state and national levels for award-winning programs and life safety rescues, prides itself on its delivery of customer service through its motto of “making a difference, one call at a time”.
