The following programs and are available through Miami-Dade County.
Affordable Homeownership Program
If you are looking for assistance in obtaining financing as a first-time homebuyer and you qualify under CDBG, HOME, SHIP or Surtax income guidelines, you may apply for a mortgage loan subsidy through County’s loan program.
Down Payment Assistance Program
Qualifying homebuyers can receive an interest-free loan of up to $35,000 to cover the down payment for their first home.
Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemption
Available to senior citizens who meet the specific criteria.
Condominium Special Assessment Program
The Condominium Special Assessment Program is designed to provide funding assistance to help condominium owners in Miami-Dade County pay for special assessment requirements that arise from rehabilitation and repairs due to applicable building integrity recertification requirements.
First-Time Homebuyer Program
First-time homebuyers can get a below-market mortgage rate. This program works with lenders to create a special package of first, second and, if necessary third mortgages to finance a home you can afford.
Light Bill Assistance
The light assistance program is designed to provide financial support to low-income households struggling to pay for their electricity bills.
Domestic Violence Assistance
Victims of domestic violence can get help by accessing services from Miami-Dade County’s residential or non-residential programs.
Veteran Services Program
This program assists Veterans and their families with applying for Veteran benefits, claims and appeals to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
Meals for the Elderly
Seniors at least 60 years of age and above who are homebound can receive free meals at home through the Meals on Wheels programs.
Home Care Assistance for Elderly Residents with Disabilities
The Home Care Program offers assistance to elderly residents with disabilities and is delivered with the goal of enabling older adults to lead healthy and active lives in their own homes and communities.
Disability Services for People Living Independently (DSAIL)
This program provides assistance to Miami-Dade County residents with disabilities ages 18-59.
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) assists low-income homeowners with making their homes energy efficient through the installation of cost-saving measures, such as attic insulation, low-flow showerheads, water heater jackets, energy efficient light bulbs, weather-stripping, energy recovery ventilation, and the repair or replacement of exterior doors, windows, refrigerators, water heaters and cooling and heating systems.
