Sunny Spaces Art Unveiling

City of Sunny Isles Beach Unveils Winners of Sunny Spaces Art Contest at New Gateway Artway

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. (April 19, 2024) – The City of Sunny Isles Beach proudly unveiled the artwork of the Sunny Spaces Art Contest winners at the new Gateway Artway on Monday, April 15 at 6 p.m., coinciding with World Art Day.

The Gateway Artway, located at Gateway Center, 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, now features the work of 25 talented artists. The unveiling event was a festive occasion, attended by many of the artists, their loved ones, dignitaries, and members of the public who came together to celebrate the lasting impact their art will have in the community.

“The Artway is a symbol of our commitment to the arts and our community,” said Mayor Larisa Svechin.

The Sunny Spaces Art Contest was developed in celebration of the city’s 25th Anniversary under the initiative of the Public Art Program. Artists were tasked with creating an original piece incorporating the theme of the sun, resulting in an overwhelming response.

“The contest was received exceptionally well and had more participation than we could have hoped for,” said Leah Einwalter, Media Manager.

In addition to the Gateway Artway, five pieces from the top five winners are located around the city as part of our new Sunny Spaces Art Quest. This fun and interactive scavenger hunt contains riddles to help art enthusiasts find the art located at different locations around Sunny Isles Beach. You can find our palm card with the clues by visiting sibfl.net/sunnyspaces.

The Gateway Artway is open to the public daily from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
